Job Description

Purchasing Coordinator:

We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator with additional knowledge in Customer Service with work experience in a manufacturing environment. The position requires computer proficiency and understanding of ERP systems, supplier purchasing processes, and customer contract review.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare purchases by verifying requisitions, specifications, price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items and obtain approval from requisitioning department.
  • Places purchase orders to suppliers to meet production demand, including MRP requirements.
  • Obtain supplier quotes for engineering / production requests.
  • Source and qualify suppliers, including supplier report cards
  • Processing incoming customer orders, in accordance with contract review in our quality system.
  • Assist with sales administrative tasks, including but not limited to customer agreements, customer follow-up, and trade show organization.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing office environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP business applications, we use Priority Software.
  • Understanding the purchase order process, order entry, receiving and required approvals.
  • Understand proper escalation and adherence to policy and procedure
  • Understanding export/import regulations, including tariffs.
  • Must be a self-starter, willing take to initiative to resolve problems.
  • Ability to multitask, accurate data entry, written and verbal communication, team player.
  • Excellent organization skills
