Exciting opportunity to join a stable and innovative Health & Beauty Cosmetic Manufacture!! 

 
Overview Quality Assurance (QA) Manager role at a high volume newly constructed cosmetic and OTC manufacturing location. This role will establish and enforce quality standards, provide technical support and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager is an integral role in a cross functional group responsible for achieving operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and support quality systems to ensure and improve product quality and safety of cosmetic and OTC products. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through implementation and maintenance of cGMP, FDA 21 CFR parts 210 and 211 and EU regulation compliant programs, inclusive of verification and validation. Serve as the primary regulatory contact for the site, leading inspections and responses. 
  • Direct oversight and management of full Stability Program and commercialization of cosmetic and OTC products. 
  • Provide Quality and Safety perspective, working closely with other departments during the commercialization of new products. 
  • Develop, train, and lead Quality staff, maximizing their potential through performance assessment and development. 
  • Lead the sanitation team and their activities including the development of SSOP’s, verification and validation activities. 
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain by highlighting non-conformances and leading cross functional root cause analysis. Use data and statistical process control to support manufacturing improvements. 
  • Serve as primary contact and program owner for ISO 9001:2015 as well as all third-party certification programs (USDA NOP, NSF, Kosher, GFCO). 
  • Develop and implement a robust internal auditing system to drive compliance and continuous improvement, inclusive of leading an auditing team and a corrective action task force. 
  • Promote Product Safety and quality by providing support and training to Operations, Quality and Sanitation functions. Serve as the subject matter expert for OTC and cosmetic manufacturing, supporting and training the technical organization. 
  • Own the continuous review of consumer complaints, analyzing for trends and identification of reduction plans. Lead in plant investigations for customer and consumer complaints, documenting findings and generating outward facing responses. 
  • Oversight of analytical and microbiology laboratory operations and safety, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of all lab equipment. 
  • Manage quality department annual budget for the facility. 
  • Assists with other projects, as needed. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum five years' experience in a Quality Assurance capacity or related role, with experience reading, interpreting, and applying applicable local, state, federal, and international mandates. 
  • Experience in a cGMP regulated environment, with proficiency in quality assurance systems, documentation, testing methods, and production equipment function. 
  • Strong and current knowledge of cGMPs, ISO 9001:2015, regulatory and environmental guidelines. 
  • BA or BS in a technical discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred). 
  • General understanding of other operational functional areas such as warehouse, \distribution, supply chain, and finance. Familiarity with R&D, Marketing and Sales functions & interactions a plus. 
  • Education, training, or experience in supervisory or management position. Direct reports include Quality Assurance Supervisor, Sanitation Supervisor, Microbiologist, Stability Technician and Commercialization Manager, with various indirect reports. 
  • Experience with product stability programs. 
  • Proficient understanding of chemistry and related test methodology. 
  • Willingness to actively participate in leadership management training and support activities. 
  • Outgoing, solution-oriented people-centered management style with the ability to problem solve and make timely decisions. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows computer operating system and applications. (Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email). 
  • Experience establishing and maintaining version-controlled standards, policies, procedures, and work flows. 
  • Some travel required. 

Salary Range $120K-$125K
