Job Description

Volt is looking for a Quality Inspector for our client in Pleasanton, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform receipt inspections at Central Receiving Facility or at Project location by examining inbound equipment and materials for required characteristics specified in the procurement documents by project and/or engineering personnel. 
 

Special Requirements:

  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of inspection activities in compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP and good documentation practices
  • May need to walk on a continuous basis, bend and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to identify applicable procedures and requirements for performing Receipt Inspections. 
  • Travel to vendor/supplier locations to perform Source inspections prior to shipment to manufacturing sites. 
  • Must be able to legibly document and submit receipt terminology, end the different types of measurement scales. 
  • Have basic calibration knowledge to recognize in- or out-of-calibration conditions. 
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major, and minor 
    characteristics. 
  • Be able to use inspection planning tools and perform a product audit, determine sample size for lots, and pull random samples. 
  • Be able to identify and report nonconforming material. 
  • Convert units between English and metric systems (such as INCH to mm)
  • Use various numbering methods, such as scientific notation, decimals, and fractions, and convert the values between these methods. 
  • Be able to communicate technical issues and inspection results orally and in writing. 
  • Knowledge to interpret specifications per ANSI/Y14.5/ASME.
  • Physical dimension measurements. Use equipment such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicator, height gauge, comparator, CMM and pin gauge technique.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 

Education/Experience 

  •  AA/AS degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience (12 years of experience required without an AA/AS)
  • Receipt inspection or certification as a Level II or III Quality Control Receipt Inspector
