Job Description

We are currently looking for a QC Lab Technician to work with our client located in Bedford Park, IL

As a QC Lab Tech you will be responsible for: 

  • Perform, record, and manage QC results for incoming raw materials and finished goods. (i.e. Softening Point, Viscosity, Dissolved Oxygen testing, etc.)
  • Keep instruments running at their optimum performance through proactive preventive maintenance
  • Monitor performance of equipment by following QC protocols
  • Quickly respond to and diagnose instrument failures.   Where you’re able, you may fix the easier issues, or work with the vendor to fix the more complicated ones.
  • Offer assistance to co-workers and be point of contact for plant support quality issues.
  • Monitor trends in service requests and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime of instruments.
  • Review, develop, and update SOPs and manufacturing formulas associated with quality control, eRoom, and Sharepoint.
  • Work with R&D to test, recertify, and give disposition on DeNeef and other production products.
  • Utilize data analysis tools such as, Gage Pack, QC database, and SQC Pack, to monitor trend analysis on raw materials and finished goods.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose and remedy hardware and software problems.
  • Good personal and communication skills on all aspects of job performance and review.
  • Individual must be self-motivated, well-organized, reliable, and prioritize workload.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with safety, waste disposal and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Basic lab skills including preparing solvents, standards, and solutions preps
  • Strong PC skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
