Job Description

Summary: Maintains Quality Control records and administrative support systems through use of personal computer, and mainframe programs.  Performs typing of internal and customer correspondence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Include the following and all other duties as may be assigned. Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Maintains customer corrective action system status and performs periodic follow up of open items.
  • Performs duties of SSP Corrective Active Coordinator and maintains files, logs and follow-up records related to in-house and vendor corrective actions.
  • Maintains and updates P.C.-based vendor rating system and publishes reports for distribution to vendors.
  • Maintains and updates MRB database on System 38 to include rejections, defect codes and costs associated with non-conformance.
  • Maintains and updates document release and configuration management system on mainframe computer.
  • Performs typing, prepares special reports the request of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Performs incidental filing tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:  Minimum of High School education, working knowledge of personal computer-based applications including Lotus 1-2-3, Dbase 3, and WordPerfect. Typing skills include use of Display Writer or equivalent P.C. Word processor at a minimum of 50 words per minute with no errors.

Language Skills:  Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.  Must have the confidence to present to groups from all disciplines and levels. 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities:  Must have prior experience in with ISO 9001:2000, AS 9000, and NADCAP audits.

Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
