Basic Purpose:

The QC Supervisor audits and oversees the application of required quality and regulatory programs via Quality Technicians and direct observation. All testing, record keeping and analysis associated with the quality control, H.A.A.C.P., SQF, GMP, plant safety and cleaning programs. Overseas or conducts inspections, conducts analysis, verifies record keeping and ensures Quality Technicians are appropriately controlling quality and food safety systems.

Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

• Performs inspections, analysis and record keeping requirements of interest to quality, safety and sanitation standards 20% of role

• Inspects plant and grounds as well as incoming and in storage raw materials for compliance. 15% of role

• Verifies specific critical control point compliance. 15% of role

• Monitors all work in process for adherence to specifications 15% of role

• Conducts analysis on product and packaging as necessary 10% of role

• Inspects with and coordinates the activities of the contract P.C.O 5% of role

• Advises management of any out of compliance issues 10% of role

• Conducts training and establishes compliance with FDA and SQF regulations 5% of role

• Evaluates compliance with environmental control agency requirements 5% of role

• Advises and provides support for the plant cleaning functions-Ongoing

• Acts as secondary contact for regulatory inspectors, investigators and 3rd party auditors Ongoing

• Member of all teams and committees involving employee safety, quality and food safety Ongoing

• Acts as back-up to QC Manager, as needed Ongoing

• Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary. On-going

Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to:

• GMP's • Allergen Program

• Quality • HACCP

• Sanitation

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Minimum three years' experience in a Quality Control role in a manufacturing environment or related capacity

• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Associates Degree in Business Administration, or Administrative Office Management Certificate are highly desired.

• Must have a combined level of education and experience in food processing and or laboratory technique to be able to make informed decisions, recognize problems, and seek satisfactory solutions.

• Strong knowledge of Food GMP's, SOP's, HACCP/Food Safety, Regulatory and Environmental guidelines.

• Experience with Kosher and Gluten Free certification and compliance preferred.

• SQF and HACCP Certification preferred

• Must be able to work in a safe and sanitary manner.

• Must be able to multitask and serve the needs of a variety of department functions.

• Must continually meet internal and external customer expectations through teamwork, respect and willingness to help and support others.

• Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

• Bi-lingual with fluent Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.

• Ability to work with the public and employees in a tactful and friendly manner

• Ability to utilize time management, work under a tight schedule and meet timing deadlines.

• Ability to work under pressure, react appropriately under constantly changing priorities with numerous interruptions.

• Ability to meet attendance guidelines.

• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all contacts both inside and outside the company.

• Understanding of basic principles of the SQF program and other food safety policies/procedures
