Job Function/Purpose:

Designs, installs and evaluates quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. Recommends revision of specifications when indicated. Formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures. Might conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools. Interfaces with all other engineering components within the organization and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.

Monitors quality plans and procedures and maintains various quality-related logs


Processes nonconforming products and participates on Material Review Board


Leads and performs root cause analysis and corrective action planning


Provides customer/vendor and management interface on quality, process, and manufacturing systems


Supports reporting of quality metrics


Provides customer/vendor and management interface on quality, process, and manufacturing systems


Conducts quality system, product and repair station audits and audit reporting


Other duties as necessary

Job Requirements:



BS degree in Engineering, Math or Science

Must have 3+ years in a quality or test engineering role

Preferred minimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing

Preferred ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer


Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with diverse, multifunctional teams.

Read and understand drawings, including geometric tolerancing.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong knowledge of the following is a plus:

  • AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • FAA Standards
  • Reading design documents including schematics
  • Statistical sampling, analysis and metrics
  • Nonconforming materials management and Material Review Board
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action
  • Auditing and audit reporting
  • Design Quality
  • Test Plan development and Test Reporting
  • Process improvement, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing
  • Supplier Quality
  • Contract Review
  • Document and Review procedures and processes


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment*

The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts or is exposed to risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
