Quality Engineer (24-month contract) St. Paul, MN

$35.00/hr.

Volt has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in search of a Quality Engineer. In this role, you will support post market risk management activities across a variety of products (including products with electrical, mechanical, and software components). Tasks will include creation of and updates to hazard analyses, risk management reports, and design analysis documents (DFMEA, UEA, Cybersecurity, etc.) and analysis of field information to support these deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Manufacturing, Information Management, Research Development & Engineering, Quality Assurance Operations and Product Performance Analysis teams to ensure compliance to LifeScan software development procedures and industry regulations.
  • Review and approve deliverables of the software development lifecycle. Lead teams in performing Hazard Analysis.
  • Occasionally assist teams in developing Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for software development activities that meet their specific needs.
  • Provide training for select software development activities for LifeScan.
  • Write and execute test protocols and reports.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with risk management and/or reliability
  • 3-5 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to produce results.
  • Moderate knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in a quality function.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where root cause and data analysis is required.
  • Interacts with internal personnel in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Follows established practices and procedures in the performance of normal job functions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
