Job Description

We're partnering with a growing manufacturing client in search of a 2nd shift Quality Inspector!


  •  Oversee all inspection activities including incoming, in-process and final inspections to ensure final product meets all Company and Customer requirements


  • Have an understanding on basic gages and there applications and be able to use them in a manner that parallels the accuracy of the gauge. including but not limited to gauge pins, gage blocks, thread gauges, thread rings, inside and outside micrometers, calipers, bore gages, Mueller gages, drop indicators, dial indicators, surface plates and height stands.
  • To be able to perform all inspection found on inspection sheets using hard gages located at machines.
  • To have a basic understanding of GD&T found on blue prints as well as basic interpretation and understanding of revision levels and changes and also handling and storage of blueprints.
  • Be able to operate CMM with existing programs and documentation, also with little guidance be able to interpret the readings and communicate those to the machine operator.
  • Communicate with others in a useful manner and communicate with supervisor any issues that require such added attention.
  • Be able to use ERP to log into jobs as well as basic computer use to access or print out forms as needed.
  • Perform basic housekeeping and cleaning when needed as well as keep a clean an organized area. (leave it like you found it)
  • Use of additional software such as QC-CALC, PC-DMIS to monitor and perform CPK, PPK and do basic maintenance of CMM programs.
  •  In case of revision changes, run to requirements or identifying any problems in existing programs, be able to with little guidance, correct, edit and make changes to such programs.
  • Be able to run one type of CMM vision or touch probe.
  • Be able to use all manual equipment and perform checks such as runout with a v block and indicator, Sunnen gauge and various specialized gages.
  • Perform gauge R&R, FAIR, CPK studies and other various requirements from customer with little assistance from supervisor or others.
  • Create paperwork required to complete inspection operation including C OF C’s and producing certifications and following guidelines of documentation and record keeping.
  • Have a thorough understanding of blueprints, GD&T and interpretation of them.
  • Be able to meet all level 3 and 2 requirements with proficiency
  • Proficient at programming 1 type of CMM and also able to operate both vision and touch probe type as well as perform basic programming on both.
  • To be able to write and produce programs in a proficient manner that provide accurate results to hit timeline requirements for customers and meet company objectives.
  • Be cross-trained to be able to fill in if needed for another department (swisss, back/Mill, front).
  • Have a high level of understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation and be able to work with engineers and management to solve problems and find solutions.
  • Be able to generate, fill out and deliver all information needed to fulfill customer FAI’s
  • Be familiar with all inspection procedures.


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years education in related field plus 3 years’ experience or 5 years’ experience in field.
  • Strong math background.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
