Volt Workforce Solutions is partnering with a large manufacturing company in Santa Maria to find a Quality Manager to join their growing team.

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager ensures the management of the company's quality, process and/or business improvement efforts within a defined segment of the organization. Responsible for interfacing with engineering, customers, and Supply Chain or suppliers, on quality related issues. This person typically has a staff of quality engineers, quality administration and inspectors reporting directly to him/her. Responsible for managing all quality assurance personnel within division.

Summary of Duties:

  • Develop vision, strategy, and objectives for quality.
  • Lead process and continuous improvement in operations.
  • Identify contractual requirements and risks for exposure, and aid to implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the quality management system complies with regulatory, industry and customer requirements.
  • Monitor development program milestones in regards to quality.
  • Set up and improve robust processes in operations.
  • Assist various departments with problem solving tools and be a problem solving champion.
  • Ensures that division is properly prepared for internal, customer and/or third party audits and ensures audits are properly managed.
  • Manage and oversee the company’s corrective and preventive action processes and their effectiveness.
  • Identify and understand customer requirements.
  • Oversee the company’s internal and external non conformance system.
  • Administer and assist management with monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Interface with the Supply Chain department on supplier related issues.
  • Assist and develop direct reports.
  • Maintain good customer communication and relationships; strive to meet or exceed customer satisfaction expectations.


Education:  Bachelor’s degree. ASQ certification preferred.

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance.  Aerospace manufacturing experience and 5-7 years of management experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Lotus Notes

Other Skills: Excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of LEAN principles and manufacturing processes. Experienced in customer relations; in depth knowledge of Federal Aviation requirements. Strong organizational skills.
