Quality Support Specialist

Day Shift

Monday – Friday

Pay Rate: $45K Annually 

Direct Hire

Volt's client is a leading food and snack producing company located in Wilsonville, OR. Their mission is to create and inspire A Healthier Way of Life and be a leading manufacturer and seller of organic and natural products. They are looking for a Quality Support Specialist to help them on their mission to producing “better for you” products in an environment that is safe and comfortable to work in.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement programs to promote Food Safety and quality consciousness among employees of the production site.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance of production personnel according to established manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Adapt standards, specifications, parameters, analytical testing methods and manufacturing methods to the local situation (process equipment; laboratory instruments) and to national regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as SQF practitioner, implement and maintain the SQF system with responsibility to allocate resources to ensure compliance.
  • Render product clearance decisions at different stages of the production process to authorize continuation of production until eventual release for sale or R&D trial.
  • Serve as PCQI and assume full responsibility for batch releases, approval of master documents, documentation of quality investigations etc., or delegate such responsibility to another designated QI.
  • Responsible for Verification and Validation activities, such as quality audits, and quality training to ensure:
  • Efficient application of machinery, plant and procedures to ensure formula and packaging compliance
  • Auditing program execution of ingredient, packaging, warehouse according to the food safety and quality requirements.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary.
  • Support and execute the Product Recall Program and follow-up in conjunction with the Recall Team.
  • Responsible to complete complaint investigation corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent Required
  • Food Manufacturing Quality experience Required
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail, consistently.
  • Ability to work independently
  • PCQI certified
  • Experience with GFSI scheme certification
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred
  • Must be team-oriented, reliable and meet attendance standards
