Volt has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Irvine to help identify an Quality Systems Engineer for immediate hire.

In this role you would be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of best practices for quality processes and systems, working alongside all resources within the plant. The focus of the Quality Systems Engineer is centered on business system improvement following the internal auditing that identify areas of improvement and generate the need for effective Corrective Action . The Quality Systems Engineer supports all area leaders and personnel in the transformation of processes, standards and practices into best in class status. The position will focus on instilling consistency, standardization and discipline into plant level processes while establishing a culture focused on the fanatical reduction in product variation and improve quality compliance. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate strong commitment to developing a culture of safety ethics and compliance at all levels of the organization

• Help define, document, implement, manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System under the ISO 9001:2015 standard; including management of the internal audit program, coordination and management of surveillance and recertification audits and revision and release of controlled documents

• Actively involved in making culturally based improvements to quality systems and procedures. Examples include ensuring systems and procedure properly drive a culture of trust and respect.

• Implement documented quality systems and quality database to ensure data is captured and can be used for future improvement efforts

• Ensure robust Quality processes are built into all manufacturing systems

• Drive root cause and corrective action projects

• Lead the execution and improvement of quality assurance and quality systems activities

• Provide management with technical guidance as required

• Develop and deliver training to teams as needed

• Assist and/or manage plant projects and drive to completion

• Constantly learn new things—and share them with team members

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

 Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required (engineering or IT discipline preferred)

• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standard

• 5+ years Quality Assurance and Compliance

• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Words, Power Point..)

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with managers, supervisors, peers and subordinates

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Well organized and able to meet deadlines

• Self-starter, results-oriented and the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a rapidly environment

• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity and personal accountability

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Active listening to support improvement processes within various areas and levels of the organization

• Proven experience with and successful sponsorship implementing quality processes

• Knowledge of manufacturing process

• Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma
