Quality Technician

Job Overview

Location: Davenport, IA

Industry: Metal Fabrication

Shift: First, 5:00am – 3:30PM Monday - Thursday

Summary/Objective

The Quality Technician understands and applies the principles and techniques of complex drawings.  Understands of materials, processes, statistical control, sampling plans, GD&T, and Inspection techniques will be critical to your success.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities:

  • Create inspection plans for production based off the print and customer requirements
  • Completing first part inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections
  • Completing PPAP documentation (ISIR’s, Control Plans, FMEA’s, etc)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Experience using a CMM, FaroArm, or Romer
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T
  • Experience inspecting parts using various inspection tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision still ensuring fabricated parts are being inspected with the highest standards
  • Taking initiative to correct issues/identify areas of concern
  • Experience working with 3D measuring software
  • Ability to train/coach quality inspectors
  • Attention to details

Required Education and Experience

  • 2 year Engineering Degree or 2 years’ experience inspecting complex parts
  • Experience or training in understanding GD&T principles
  • Experience with tubing, welding, assemblies, machining, or fabrication a plus
