Job Description

Hardware Test Engineer

This is an estimated 3-month temporary position, in Everett, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

This is a Hardware Test Engineer position. The engineer will write software to test the physical hardware products and measure performance. This role is also as a Design Validation and Test (DVT) Engineer or a Engineering Validation and Test (EVT) Engineer. Experience in SCPI, the standard for controlling electronic test instruments.

Requirements:

  • Programmable instrument experience (a must)
  • Experience with writing hardware test programs for the electronics industry
  • SCPI instrument control experience
  • SQL Database experience
  • Visual Studio C# (intermediate or above) with demonstrated experience in object oriented programming
  • Well-rounded engineer able to work in a dynamic environment
  • Able to develop test code under the Test Automation Platform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science:  EE or CS and experience with programmable instruments
  • Visual Studio C# (intermediate or above), with SCPI instrument control of instruments including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
  • Experience with data management and manipulation including matrices (SQL)
  • Understands basic signal processing (DSP) with frequency domain and time domain
  • Demonstrated experience in C# object oriented programming, and able to produce well-structured code that is maintainable and scalable
  • Able to produce well-structured code that is maintainable and scalable
  • Working knowledge of Git version control
  • UI experience preferred
