Job Description

Our client, a major global manufacturer of aluminum products, is seeking a Recycling Coordinator for their offices in Atlanta.  The Recycling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating metal inputs from our supplier base into the Recycling Network for processing and then into the Recycling Centers.  The Recycling Coordinator will be the primary interface between the company and its scrap suppliers to coordinate scrap deliveries and address supplier inquiries and resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, analyzes, and coordinates externally purchased used beverage can (UBC) and Non-UBC scrap, including dross and internally generated scrap into the network for processing and then into the company’s recycle / remelt centers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service,
  • Capture and report on scrap sales.
  • Analyze and report on inventory positions to help the company meet current and long term business needs.
  • Work closely with business unit personnel to forecast consumption requirements, ensure appropriate metal flow and inputs are available to meet forecasted demand, and prepare and distribute reporting in support of the business unit goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, and four years of relevant experience
  • Superior customer service skills, including the ability to develop pro-active relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Superior analytical and computer skills with software applications proficiency, including strong Excel skills and SAP experience, and a solid understanding of relational database design and query tools
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aluminum rolling and/or recycling; knowledge of aluminum scrap, manufacturing, and recycle process preferred
