Regional Sales Manager

Remote and Direct Hire Opportunity!

The Regional Business Manager is primarily responsible for achievement of the order intake and forecasts for his/her own specific territories, accounts and customers. The incumbent is responsible for all customer-facing activities that the company adopts with these customers and is the owner of the business capture process being undertaken to secure those projects and programs.

Job Duties:

  • Coach and develop the Aftermarket Sales Manager to retain and reward talent as well as achieve sales objectives.
  • Achieve In-Year order intake, gross margin and revenue 
  • Grow sales by winning new business, taking market share from competitors, while maintaining and growing existing business.
  • Collaborate closely with other Regional Sales Managers within the sales team to share information regarding international market segments.
  • Own sales forecasting activities for assigned region and accounts and ensure performance goals are achieved in accordance with objectives set by the Sales Director.
  • Develop direct sales representatives, distributors, resellers, agents and consultants within the regional boundaries, in order to grow pre-existing and establish new channels to market, maintain relationships, negotiate and close deals.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports, as required by the Sales Director, including but not limited to, sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Ensure that all necessary reporting data and information is reviewed, analyzed, recorded in the CRM and, where appropriate, communicated in a timely manner to Management in the standard formats.
  • Create territory market analysis reviews, program and project summaries, opportunity reviews, and key account management reports.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments such as Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Finance and Operations to ensure adherence to customer requirements and established schedules.
  • Accept Department projects as assigned for Sales strategy investigation and direction setting.
  • Remain engaged on booked programs, through Customer Support and Operations teams, to ensure program delivery issues with the customer are smoothly addressed.
  • Travel as required, typically 50%, and more at given times, including a willingness to travel at weekends when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or able to demonstrate similar knowledge and ability.
  • Acoustic or systems engineering experience with tactical communication is highly desirable.
  • Operational military experience
  • Significant demonstrable experience selling product capabilities, preferably to Departments/Ministries of Defense.
  • Excellent relationships across the Defense C4I sector, especially with radio and intercom providers, Land & Sea platform providers and  systems integrators.
  • Demonstrable ability to understand the needs of the marketplace, translate those needs into capability statements, in order to identify existing product fit or to provide clear definition of need to Product Managers.
  • Demonstrable experience and success with configuration management of customized technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Strategic Selling principles, Large Account Management Process and MOD/DOD acquisition processes and regulations
  • Experience and knowledge of the Defense Sector and production of large tender contract documents.
