Regulatory Compliance Specialist-New Opportunity

Job Summary:

• Position is for a self-motivated individual with the technical background qualified to interpret global product safety standards and requirements applicable to products for regulatory compliance.

• Work with product management defining compliance needs and requirements for new products, applications or modifications.

• Review and determine suitable test protocols and reviews with agency safety engineers in order to determine project costs and timeline.

• Work with engineers and agency safety engineers during the project conceptual phase and design reviews, ensuring prompt agency compliance.

• Provide guidance to engineers in the selection of agency preapproved materials and components.

• Review internal safety compliance verification tests protocols and results prior submittal to agency evaluation.

• Prepare agency documentation, including outline drawings, assembly drawings, and safety component detail drawings and/or agency specifications, product datasheets, test reports, schematics, bill of materials, product marking, installation instructions, material specification and certifications.

Manage annual agency compliance related expenses.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for the coordination and completion of all new agency compliance projects for new products and modifications of existing products, within planned budgets and timelines.

2. Responsible for all agency factory audits relative to UL, CSA, CCC, FM, NSF, ABS, ATEX and IECEx certifications.

3. Oversee safety related changes to Engineering technical documents, quality inspection requirements, and related company-wide policies and practices procedures required for ongoing agency compliance.

4. Coach and mentor our engineers with respect to design criteria required for agency compliance. Provide training to specific groups company-wide as needed for agency compliance on specific product or quality system related matters.

5. Advice the documentation control group regarding agency required marking and revision controls necessary for agency compliance.

• BS degree in technical field
• 5 Years of demonstrated experience related to product safety agency compliance and component design
• Safety agency experience with UL, CSA, FM, NSF, ABS, CCC, ATEX, IECEx , etc. as required for global product safety certifications
• Proficient in engineering documentation including drawings, bill of materials and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Project Management
• Familiar with electro-mechanical product design
• Familiar with engineering safety related testing and report writing
• Good engineering technical documentation management skills
• Microsoft Office
