Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Reliability Analyst to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in Waterloo, Iowa. This is a contingent position expected to last 2 years.

As a Reliability Analyst for John Deere, you will be responsible for all current product reliability activities for engines. In addition, you will:

  • Conduct complex, specialized analyses of product problem and reliability data such as Weibull and Competing Failure Mode Analysis, calculating component life and estimating repair costs
  • Monitor high-level product problems and seek commitment from appropriate departments/units so that necessary actions can be taken
  • Create complex and/or new reports and metrics using innovative approaches
  • Serve as an expert in the application of product problem and/or reliability analysis techniques
  • Lead, facilitate, and participate in complex, multi-functional process teams for product problem resolution and reliability improvement
  • Develop and administer new, complex business processes for product problem resolution and reliability improvement
  • Develop reliability goals for continuous improvement and predict reliability based on failures and redesign credits

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in reliability analysis
  • Strong Excel skills including v-lookup and pivot tables
  • Knowledge of engines, engine systems, engine parts and their functions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective facilitation skills leading multi-disciplined local and virtual teams
  • Knowledge of database management tools and process management systems
  • Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style

Additional Skills

Other area of experience or interest that will help you stand out.

  • 1 or more years of experience working with design, engineering, manufacturing or quality
  • 1 or more years of experience using Weibull++, RGA, BlockSim or equivalent tools
  • 1 or more years of experience with John Deere machinery and equipment
  • Project management experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar discipline
