Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Waterloo, IA. This is a contingent position expected to last 3 years.   

Duties Include:

  • Supporting warranty and continuous improvement processes as well as supporting product development.
  • Conducting warranty investigations to identify unresolved failure modes.
  • Creating analysis to quantify severity/cost of issues.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Generating reports to enable engineering and business teams to understand their performance and where gaps to goal exist.
  • Facilitating design reviews and risk management activities to identify and drive reduction of risk in product designs and processes prior to production.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Manufacturing discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the use of and applying quality tools such as FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with 8D corrective action process.
  • Interest in performing analytics on large data sets.
  • Advanced capability in Excel, strongly desire programming experience in Visual Basic, SQL, R.
  • Basic capability in statistics.

A Strong Candidate will also have:

  • Experience/background in one of more of the following: ASQ certification, CRE, CQE, SSGB or SSBB.
  • Experience with Agricultural equipment.
  • Experience in product design or product test.
  • Experience using Reliasoft software packages.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • Reliability Engineering experience highly preferred.
