Job Description

Role: Remote & On-Site Support Technician for a role to support the Lower Mainlands areas in British Columbia

  • Employer: In the Technology Industry  
  • Shift: 9am-5pm PST
  • Pay Rate: $25-35/hr Depending on experience + benefits available
  • Term: Long term on-going contract
  • Note: in this role, the selected candidate will have to travel to the various sites for tech support as needed to pick up the laptops/computers to work on them technically in-person, and/or will be able to work from home if needed depending on the technical case.

Services Required:

•         Network infrastructure: routing and firewalls, VPN and remote

access, site infrastructure and management

•         Prioritize onsite support for mission-critical departments

•         Installation, technical support and diagnostics for client-provided equipment

•         Liaison with client IT departments

•         Deployment and installation of equipment provided by 


•         Unboxing, setup and testing of computers

•         Provisioning of users on Client's storage devices

•         Printer/copier driver installation and configuration

•         Assessment of Ethernet requirements (adequate wiring)

•         VLAN configuration

•         Firewall/router evaluation; configuration when necessary

•         On-call support

•         Equipment failure: diagnostics and loaner setup when needed

•         HR and security requirements (SSO, VPN client, etc.)

•        iPad configuration for client's software, Point-of-Sale and SmartStart system

•         Refresh and send the old computers to disposal or FedEx back to client site
