Job Description

Reporting Data Analyst

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with internal and external customers to understand their business needs and translate them into written requirements which can be understood by technical and non-technical audiences
  • Build compelling, interactive, and actionable reporting on top of structured data models
  • Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions using Microsoft BI technologies including Power BI, SQL Server, and Excel
  • Analyze disparate data sources to integrate with existing datasets to tell a comprehensive BI story
  • Receive feedback from stakeholders on existing reporting assets and make changes as needed
  • Create standard development procedures to ensure consistency
  • Cross-train team members on the use of Power BI
  • Partner with IT, Practice Management, Operations, and other stakeholders to deploy skills and capabilities towards supporting data driven decision making
  • Collaborate with other Reporting Analysts to develop and improve the firm’s reporting system and overall capability
  • Analyze and validate data to provide assurance of accuracy and validity of critical business information
  • Document reports and implement business intelligent framework to accelerate future report building
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of intracompany systems to assist legal and operations teams in accessing information

Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience designing and developing reporting solutions with Microsoft Power BI, including the following:
    • Managing role-based security, audit logs, dashboard reporting, presentation layer functioning and performance, publishing of data sources and dashboards, and classification of business data
    • Developing with DAX and MDX
    • Enforcing content publishing and sharing policies
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience designing and developing reporting solutions with SQL
  • Minimum one (1) year of development experience with Python, using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, matplotlib
  • Minimum two (2) years’ plus of experience with various forms of data modeling
  • Prefer experience in building and developing reports to support data-driven decision making in a professional services industry, preferably Human Resources or Immigration



Minimum Education Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience
