In this position, you will support testing and failure analysis for their life-sciences division.  Position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. Assumes responsibility for conducting assigned, well-defined technical tasks within an area of technical specialty at a project level

Job Duties:

  • Individual possesses a basic working knowledge of appropriate microbiological laboratory practices and techniques.
  • Performs routine and non-routine microbiological, chemical, and physical test protocols on finished products, cartridge and membrane, with some supervision.
  • Cross-trains in all QA Laboratory procedures and performs such as required by QA Manager/Supervisor/Microbiologists or Quality Engineers.
  • Prepares biological media, reagents, glassware, and equipment for bacteriological and chemical testing.
  • Performs test protocols on products following standard operating procedures and work instructions according to approved quality plans.
  • Assists in obtaining and evaluating environmental bioburden and process water samples.
  • Assists in routine environmental monitoring (viable/non-viable particulate).
  • Assists in QA receipt, evaluation, and release of incoming materials.
  • Assists in issuing routine and non-routine Certificates of Analysis and Compliance.
  • Helps maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Maintains a well-organized, sufficiently detailed laboratory notebook documenting work and analyses performed. Enters data into appropriate database.
  • Prepares Disposition Reports, as necessary, and enters information into database. Assists in the movement of materials into and out of the quarantine cage.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including the filing of data sheets into appropriate binders.
  • Complies with all applicable laboratory safety practices.
  • Interdepartmental communication and interaction as needed to schedule QA testing and report results.
  • Duties and responsibilities may include interacting with other personnel - principally within the division/staff organization-to develop a network of resources to facilitate completion of assignments. Document experimental-data/observations in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files) and prepares reports to communicate results to the appropriate technical community. May also be required to provide technical supervision/management of other contingent technical workers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum H.S. Diploma. Associates or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field is preferred.
  • 2 years of demonstrated laboratory experience
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel and Powerpoint
