Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Robotics Perception Software Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

In this role you will work on the exciting and technically challenging Automation Systems Development team. This team is responsible for developing and demonstrating automation technologies which are often used in conjunction with information systems, remote control, semi-autonomous and fully autonomous machine control systems. In this role you will focus on the development and application of perception technologies and systems.

Duties Include:

  • Research and develop new technology in perception.
  • Develop perception software for personnel detect, object detection, tracking, classification, terrain mapping, localization and others.
  • Solving analytical problems and debugging software.
  • Communicating results to customers, suppliers, team members and other business units.
  • Participating in R&D programs through entire lifecycle, from initial inception through production and maintenance phases.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Master’s in Robotics or Computer Vision with 2 years of industry experience post-graduation.
  • Strong hands-on programming skills in C++.
  • Experience with ROS, CUDA, TensorFlow, Open CV, Open CL, Open GL, Matlab.
  • Proficiency in the use of Linux operating system.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience in developing embedded computational platforms including hardware accelerated platforms such as FPGAs, GPUs and real-time CPUs.
  • Programming of computer vision/perception systems software that integrates with perception sensors such as cameras, lidar and radar.
  • Experience in the field of robotics, image processing and implementing perception algorithms on hardware platforms.
  • Experience with computer vision and machine learning algorithms.
  • Matlab/Simulink experience is a plus.
  • GIT version control experience.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills.

Must be available to work on W2 to Volt. No C2C or 3rd party vendors please.
