Job Description

Sales Specialist in 77084 paying $18 to $25 hourly - familiarity with SalesForce highly preferred, and a minimum of 5 years previous experience assisting sales team doing administrative work. 

This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Sales Department by implementing effective processes, procedures, and strategies to ensure maximum efficiency for achieving sales goals and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (additional duties may be assigned)

  • Perform general sales follow ups on renewal contracts at the direction of the Exhibit & Sponsorship Sales Specialist; aid in building customer relationships related to exhibits and sponsorships.
  • Function as the administrator and subject matter expert (SME) of Magazine Manager (MM) publishing software and liaison of a2z software between Sales and Exhibits.
  • Maintain and ensure accurate and detailed lead, account, contact, opportunity and sales activity in MM including uploading press releases, exhibit and sponsorship contracts to account records.
  • Assist Sales Team in preparing and launching email campaigns through Mailchimp Marketing Platform as well as managing the open rates, bounces, and unsubscribes.
  • Develop and maintain online sales repository for immediate access by Sales team; including but not limited to all current sales collateral, sales reports, relevant promotional materials, market intelligence, etc.
  • Serve as the Sales Team point-of-contact for internal and external customers; provide superior customer service by facilitating and resolving inquiries.
  • Accurately execute monthly commission reports, goal reports, A/R reports, and other reports as requested.
  • Function as the SME for all  Quality Standards (ISO) updating all documents, workflows, and records to maintain readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Work with Sales Manager to track expenses, and create monthly financial reports.
  • Provide and perform general administrative duties as needed in support of the Sales Team and Sales Manager.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree or equivalent sales experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of achieving successful sales results or providing strong sales support to a highly motivated and successful Sales Team
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
  • Computer software and hardware expertise
  • Prior experience in advertising (print or digital), events, sponsorships, or publications sales/sales support preferred
  • Experience with budgeting, tracking expenses, and forecasting preferred
