Product Stewardship Scientist (9-month contract) $30-32/hr.
St. Paul, MN

Volt has partnered with a growing medical device client in search of a Scientist! The Product Stewardship Scientist will support the Cardiovascular and Neuromodulation Division.  This position will lead and support the product stewardship activity, implementation and management of the product stewardship and restricted substance programs with major focus on EU MDR materials compliance implementation.  This position will be in the Science & Technology Lab in St Paul, Minnesota location.   


  • Work with Corporate Regulatory/Product Stewardship team and provide updates as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with geography specific restricted substance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, EU MDR) and Restricted Substance Management (RSM) requirements.
  • Coordinate support to the Product Stewardship team; integration of RSM evaluations, evaluate process chemicals with respect to EU MDR using TDS, SDS, process documents, and interviews with engineers and suppliers
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities in the Science & Technology Lab, on occasion, as assigned. 


  • B.S degree in chemistry or similar.
  • Technical experience in science or engineering.  Background in chemical formulations and processing is helpful.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience helpful. 
  • Must possess critical thinking, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Must use sound judgement and ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals and in teams.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. 
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
