Job Description

As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for general company accounting functions including month end processing, general ledger, reconciliations, process improvements, technical research, and some regulatory and tax filings and special projects. The Senior Accountant will work to ensure financial records and reports are accurate and reliable and follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements.


Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

Prepare and review monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, including booking journal entries, to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

Formulate complex financial calculations including but not limited deferred revenue and sales commissions

Prepare individual areas of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and cost and variance analysis

Prepare reporting requests to the parent company and subsidiaries and coordinate communications regarding ongoing questions and requests

Coordinate sections of the financial statement audits and reviews including working directly with both the local and global level to ensure a clean and timely quarterly reviews and year end audit

Reconcile sales tax payable and file monthly sales tax returns

Monitor department process flow and work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources

Perform technical research on accounting related issues as needed

Work directly with the CFO on financial analysis, reporting requests and ad hoc projects



BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA required

Technical Skills and Prior Experience

Four to six years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Some public accounting experience preferred.

Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Strong analytical and accounting skills.

Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook or similar programs.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger accounting. Sage preferred.

Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.

The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
