Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Senior Business Intelligence Developer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Mossville, IL.  This is a contingent position expected to last 1+ years.

Must be available to work W2 for Volt, No C2C or 3rd party vendors.

Job Summary:

Senior Business Intelligence Developer works with Business Intelligence team to support and expand business intelligence reporting system. The business intelligence system consists of data and reports across various lines of business, includes complex business rules used to compute operational metrics, and utilizes a diverse set of technologies. As part of the overall IT team, the developer works to improve report accuracy, to increase efficiency in platform and report development process, and to enhance key system documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides dashboards, scorecards, analysis and insight that enable informed business decisions.
  • Harness Business Intelligence tools and technical expertise in Microsoft Data Warehouse and Reporting toolsets including SSIS, SSRS and Microsoft Power BI Platform.
  • Develop metrics derived from multiple data sources to enable insight and decision making within the Senior Leadership Team and other management and campus levels.
  • Coordinate with business leaders to develop, test, maintain and enhance core business intelligence platform.
  • Provide support to business partners for current reports and help to conduct training session on how to utilize business intelligence platform.
  • Communicate project status to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Manage weekly schedule to meet project timelines and be able to adapt to changes in project scope and changing project priorities
  • Assist in creating project proposals / presentations and help to maintain overall business intelligence system and report requirements documentation.
  • Utilize and adhere to internal processes and controls for code development and implementation such as change control, SourceSafe, proper use of Dev, Test and Production environments and proper testing of code prior to release.
  • Partner with team members to understand best practices / available technology and take opportunities to enhance existing report development skillset.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field.

Requirements:

  • 7+ yrs. of work experience developing business focused automated reports using tools such as SSRS, as well as building necessary SQL/MySQL data objects used by reports.
  • 7+ yrs. of direct work experience with Data Warehouse and related technologies such Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, SQL, ETL, and OLAP data structures.
  • 7+ yrs. of direct work experience with Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, debugging, and modifying complex stored procedures and views, as well as querying and updating data using SQL.
  • Experience with production support and troubleshooting common report / data process issues.
  • Familiar with fact / dimension data modeling and validating results of data transformation processes.
  • Understands software development methodologies and best practices as it pertains to database and report development, to include reviewing and testing deliverables.
  • Ability to document technical requirements for business processes and development needs.
  • Ability to create and presentation-ready visuals, mock-ups, charts, graphs and summary reports in tight time frames.
  • Ability to organize time to meet project timelines and effectively find solutions to common business intelligence problems with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members and decision makers across the business.
  • Ability to develop and explain analytics needed by the business for decision making.
  • Willingness to tackle complex projects to successful completion and to learn new technologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft productivity tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, as well as willingness to learn approved third-party solutions.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential, as well as having strong interpersonal skills.
