This position requires senior skills and extensive practical experience in planning, designing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise backup and data protection environments located in multiple data centers. Selected candidate will be part of the Server Platform Engineering team and will provide Tier 3 technical support for data protection technologies primarily Veritas Netback and Dell EMC Avamar. He/she will identify and follow through on opportunities for innovation and process improvement, proposing changes and writing engineering change plans.

The candidate for this role should have at a minimum the following qualifications:

  • 6-9 years of experience in implementing and supporting Veritas Netbackup and EMC Dell Avamar environments with greater than 3,000 nodes comprised of both physical Dell\HP\IBM\Cisco UCS hardware and VMWare virtual servers
  • 6 years hands-on experience in EMC Dell Avamar replication and management, NDMP and NAS backup processes
  • 2 years of experience in Oracle Recover Manager
  • Windows & Linux enterprise administration and operation
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP networks and related technologies
  • Experience with High Availability/Site Recovery design principles
  • Well-rounded knowledge of storage solutions such as Dell, HP, NetApp and EMC VMAX and Data Domain
  • Experience with VMWare backup and Integration
  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/016, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL, Oracle DB
  • Experience and solid understanding of major operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Oracle Enterprise Linux 7, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016)
  • Technical problem solving skills with ability to investigate, analyze and solve problems quickly
  • Documentation of problems and work with vendor support to remediate problems
  • Ability to learn and apply new technology and methodologies in a distributed environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ITIL


  • Dell EMC Data Domain Specialist (DEC-IE)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert (MCSA/MCSE)
  • NetApp Storage Administration including storage allocation, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, software maintenance, Replication, Snapshots and Security
  • Experience in using VMWare Service Manager for change management and incident/service support
