Job Description

The Senior Director Sales and Business Development will be responsible for shaping and driving the company’s global sales and revenue generation. Working as a key member of the senior executive team, he/she will lead the company’s sales activities including business development, distribution, channel strategy and FAE management. The role will report directly to the CEO and will preferably be located at corporate headquarters in Austin, TX. This position requires a senior executive with strong operational, leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in global sales, rep management, distribution management and business development. The ideal candidate brings semiconductor knowledge to the company and has been actively involved in license selling of semiconductor IP. He/she preferably held positions such as VP/Dir of Sales in semiconductor companies or distribution companies. He or she would have demonstrated “change management” experience and building a strong global team ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the hiring and development of a (global) sales organization, appropriate for the company’s maturity/size.
  • Establish compensation, training, and sales incentive programs.
  • Drive the development of national and international sales strategies.
  • Work closely with Product Line Management as well as engineering to develop, establish, and direct,  distribution and rep strategies and programs.
  • Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base.
  • Work closely with employees to develop and execute lead programs.
  • Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.
  • Develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and channel partners.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • At least 10 years sales experience in comparable industries, with 4 years in a senior management position. Preferably in multiple regions.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
  • Established contacts and relationships with potential customers and channel partners.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.
  • Proven evangelical sales track record in a new product/new market environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment.
  • Experience with a specific sales methodology, sales funnel management.
  • Experience in choosing, deploying and using technical sales resources (FAEs).
  • Capacity to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.
  • Work in space, aerospace and military market.
