Job Description

Job Summary:  The Software Development Engineer is responsible for design, development, integration, and software testing for features on embedded electronic controls for use in machine applications.  The total scope of work will include machine software library development, integration of software features taken from models and existing libraries to create software flash files, integration of configuration and calibration data, test plan development and software validation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience using Matlab / Simulink models to generate code as the basis for software feature libraries
  • Compile, debug and test / update feature libraries according to technical specification and functional requirements
  • Develop, Integrate, and configure application features for machine applications for track type machines
  • Document and archive test plan and test results


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience using Matlab/Simulink models to generate embedded C software
  • Experience in embedded system and software development using C language, in construction equipment or other similar off-highway industrial mobile application
  • Working knowledge of CAN and SAE J1939 data link
  • Lauterbach/Trace32 Debugger
  • Vector CANalyzer/CANAPE
  • Excellent people interaction, teamwork, and oral/written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including ability to distribute tasks and track development milestones to closure
  • Team leadership experience managing small to medium sized teams
