Senior FPGA Engineer position

This company located in Kent, WA (near Seattle) which designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer for a full-time, direct role.

The Senior FPGA Engineer with Xilinx FPGA experience will design and develop hardware/software for a networked FPGA system. Will develop FPGA software for In Flight Entertainment products on VVIP jets. Work with FPGA logic engineers, systems engineers, and other software and electrical engineers to develop products. Unit testing and test first development.

Full Stack development within the FPGA SOC – Hardware interface for FPGA IP, Audio Video over Ethernet. Partition software design to efficiently use FPGA resources including Microblaze or Arm processor, logic. Develop means to remotely upgrade software or logic via Ethernet. Willingness to travel a plus. Other duties as necessary

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a BS degree in Electrical Engineering required, MSEE desired. Should have 10-15+ years Electrical Engineering experience. Proven track record for time management and ability to meet deadlines under tight schedules. Must be Proficient in: FPGA programming, synthesis, and optimization using Xilinx Vivado Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Writing synthesizable code and behavioral test benches using Verilog or VHDL. Instantiating Intellectual Property (IP) licensed from Xilinx and other vendors; including MicroBlaze, AXI, and H.264 Video/Audio Encoder IP Core.

Video processing for Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV), Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs), and Organic Emitting Diode (OLED) displays. HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, 10GbE protocol, Ethernet switches, and 10 Gbps fiber transmission for audio/video (AV) processing. AV compression techniques used in FPGAs or custom ASICs. This includes H.264. Low Voltage Differential Signals (LVDS), V-By-One protocols and Embedded DisplayPort (eDP). Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment with diverse, multifunctional teams.
