Job Description

We are looking to hire a Senior Human Resources Generalist for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Burlington, ON for approximately a 1.5 year contract with the possibility of extension.

  • Shift: Most likely 8:30am – 4:30pm EST Mon-Fri ; the Client is flexible on the start/end times
  • Pay Rate Range: 40.00$ - 42.00$/hr (depending on experience) + benefits available
  • Hours: 37.5 per week (7.5 hours per week)

**Interested candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without employment sponsorship, and must be able to meet ITAR and CCGP requirements**

**Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information**

- Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, as the contract/temporary Human Resources Client Manager (HRCM) – Burlington, you will be an advocate for both the Company and the employees of the Company.

- As a strategic business partner, and focal for HR services, you will support overall business goals and functional HR goals.

- You will also execute HR activities in the areas of the Mission and Operating Principles, employee relations, recruiting, compensation (to include all rewards and recognition), benefits, employee communications, training, organizational development, HR information systems, and other people related programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide counsel and direction to clients on HR issues, including pro-active identification and resolution of people-related issues including conflict resolution, policy and procedure interpretations, and legal compliance counseling to support all shifts.
  • Provide support to the Manager, Human Resources as required.
  • Provide support to designated client group(s) for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, policy and procedure interpretation, and counseling on all shifts.
  • Support organizational development initiatives, performance management, training and development, employee engagement, etc.
  • In conjunction with the local Talent Acquisition Specialist, support recruitment function for client group(s) including manpower planning, requisition approvals, interviews, and employment offers etc…
  • Analyze and provide recommendations on client compensation issues in conjunction with the Canadian Compensation Specialist.
  • Act as a Mission and Operating Principles change champion in the creation of a workplace culture that embodies strong customer service focus, employee empowerment, accountability, ACE, and ongoing learning.
  • Plan, develop and evaluate HR policies and guidelines in support of Company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and participate in site, divisional and enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
  • Perform site specific specialty duties including communications, training & development, organizational development, recruitment, Global Mobility support and support special committees and advisory/focus groups (i.e. Health & Safety, Quality, etc…)
  • Act as the site communications focal and review, edit, and issue Canadian employee communications to the Oakville & Burlington sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree – Bachelors diploma with a minimum of 5 years' Generalist experience in Human Resources
  • CHRP or CHRL certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated strong employee relations experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Employment Standards Act and related legislation is required
  • Previous HR Systems experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Labour Relations Act and Human Rights legislation is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRMS applications is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong team and customer service orientation
  • Competencies including Ethics, Integrity, Values and Trust
  • Successful candidate must have the ability to meet off-shift requirements
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD)
