Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking an Senior SQL Developer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Cary, NC. This is a contingent position expected to last 1+ years.

Must be available to work W2 for Volt, No C2C or 3rd party vendors.


  • Design, code, test, and debug programs of varying levels of complexity
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design and potential impact while cognizant of time and cost constraints
  • Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed or purchased software solutions
  • Complex application problem identification and resolution
  • Assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline – or the equivalent combination of education, technical training and work experience. 7+ years experience

Technical Skills:

  • Development experience with Microsoft SQL Server; 2008R2, 2012, 2016
  • Strong database design, configuration, performance and support in a production environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team situation with application developers and other database personnel
  • Strong capacity and aptitude to learn business processes
  • Lead, participate in gathering business requirements, analysis of source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models, and develop metadata
  • Excellent in developing complex SQL queries, view, stored procedures, error handling, etc.
  • Experience with developing SSIS packages and business logic
  • Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, etc.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Providing database support for development and deployment of database scripts in Development, Staging and Production environments
  • Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
  • Integrate data and reports with dynamic reporting engines such as Tableau and Power BI - Develop parameterized operational reporting (SSRS), analytical cubes/OLAP (SSAS), and advanced analytic and visualization solutions
