Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer for our client in West Mifflin, PA. The candidate should have experience managing the implementation and operation of the training programs, practices and procedures for training personnel. The Curriculum Developer  is part of a multi-disciplinary team which develops computer-based training (CBT) modules used in a self-paced Nuclear Power Training Program with a government client.  The CD helps to translate existing training curricula in cooperation with Navy nuke power SMEs, Gov’t civilians, training experts, and graphic designers into meaningful CBT modules for both commissioned and enlisted candidates going through nuke power training.

Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the activities of a department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
  • Develop and manage a budget with financial analysis skills and capabilities
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of training development strategies.  
  • Designs and administers training programs to train all levels of personnel.
  • May be a subject-matter expert conveying technical concepts.
  • On occasion may have to act as primary liaison with key customers and may be required to travel extensively to customer sites
  • Will work with BMPC and Navy subject matter experts to perform the training curriculum development and implementation.                                                                                                                     

Required Skills:

  • Must have the ability to develop and manage a budget with financial analysis skills and capabilities.
  • Must be able to operate independently and communicate technical material effectively with staff, peers, and management
  • Must have the ability to manage the activities of a department or training initiative with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees
  • Must have the ability to act as an individual contributor where training is highly technical

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of adult learning; Human Performance Technology, Instructional Design, Training & Development or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive (12+ years) related experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience, and/or experience teaching at the university level.
  • Professional knowledge of the specialty field.

Desired Skills:

  • PhD Degree
  • Familiarity with the Navy
