Job Description

Our client, a leading defense/technology company, is seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator with strong System Administration and VMWare background to join our team in developing a state-of-the-art ground station for the next generation of low earth orbiting environmental satellites.  The System Administrator is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing solutions to optimize the infrastructure operations.  The position is based in the company’s Aurora CO location, and up to 50% travel may be required, on short notice if needed. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company's existing or new computer (and/or server), peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs.
  • Designs, implements, codes, tests, documents, and maintains systems integration solutions to total system or subsystems.
  • Establishes functional and technical specifications, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience directly related to Windows System Administration Windows 2008R2 (and above) and Desktop support with increasing responsibilities administering client/server applications

• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills; hands-on integration of various hardware and software products

• 3 years of experience administering VMWare products including vCenter, vSphere and vSAN.

• Strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuring VMWare servers to include protocols and switching, storage, connectivity and networking.

• Experience with Scripting (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash,etc…)

• Experience in the following areas: Patch Management, Anti-Virus, Symantec Endpoint, Clustering, OS Upgrades, computer security and system monitoring and logging

• Experience with Enterprise level administration of common network services such as Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP and troubleshooting as well as Microsoft Office Suite

• Communication and diplomatic skills a must; significant interaction with various segments of the program

• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.

• U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
