Job Description

Volt has partnered with a leading IT Services company to identify multiple Server Technician resources in the Ashburn, VA area.  In this role you will provide 1st level break-fix support of Dell/HP servers and other IT hardware as specified by the customer.  This position is largely based Remote, however, there is travel to the field (1-2 hours from your house) required at times.

Primary Responsibilities:*

Analyzes, diagnoses, and troubleshoots hardware/server issues with focus on responsiveness; provides issue resolution. Maintains inventory and documentation of activity in ticket tracking software. Escalates more complex issues to 2nd level. Some familiarity with desktop support and deployment. Tech will provide project support as well as on-call support for incoming tickets. 

Candidates must be able to do server break fix work.  The environment consists of mostly Dell servers and will have more HP serversbeing added over time.

Qualifications:*

  • A.S. in related field. 3+ years experience servicing hardware as specified or utilized in customer environment.
  • Industry or vendor specific certifications are desired.
  • Familiarity with ticket-tracking software.

  • Capability to travel to remote locations with a radius of 1.5 to 2 hours.
