Job Description

Position: SharePoint Administrator

Type: Direct Hire / Full Time

Location: Long Beach, CA


  • Responsible for providing on-premises SharePoint support to 50,000 plus system-wide internal users and external facing SharePoint system
  • Manage all aspects of the organization’s SharePoint environments, including design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security
  • Play an integral part in the development of strategies for optimal use of SharePoint within the organization
  • Oversee the SharePoint infrastructure, user access and application deployment
  • Support the installation, configuration, security, operation, backup, and maintenance of all SharePoint servers, equipment, and software related to SharePoint infrastructure
  • Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to SharePoint based initiatives (migrations, upgrades, third-party solutions, integration with additional enterprise systems, and/or hosted platforms)
  • Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections
  • Perform typical system administrative activities such as site creation, user training, backup, restore and issue resolution
  • Technical support of InfoPath forms, including communicating the location of form libraries, their purpose and workflows
  • Coordinate with Client divisions in standardizing and optimizing the way data/information is stored, retrieved, and protected
  • Collaborate with other divisions to implement any design or usability changes for accessibility compliance or alignment with organization’s mission
  • Maintain and administer SharePoint, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis ensuring high availability of the SharePoint environment
  • Perform as the SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical expertise to the team in the technologies related to the development and support of an Enterprise SharePoint environment
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for SharePoint solutions
  • Effectively analyze matters and exercise good judgment to achieve IT objectives within specified timetables
  • Take ownership of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Responsibilities for all CO supported SharePoint farms
  • Assist with special projects as needed including determining requirements, selecting and implementing new tools and technologies, and designing and developing customer training
  • Responsible for keeping current in the industry, including technology changes, trends and best practices
  • Responsible for addressing any concerns regarding technical operations with the appropriate supervisor
  • Responsible for any other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • 4+ years professional experience supporting Microsoft SharePoint
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture
  • Experience working with SharePoint Enterprise 2010, 2013 and 2016
  • Experience configuring and working with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server 2012/2014
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory and SharePoint command line parameters and able to administer, troubleshoot, and gather data using PowerShell commands
  • In depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 and 2016
  • Solid knowledge of web performance, monitoring tools and operational procedures
  • Experience with third-party database Backup and Recovery tools (ex. AvePoint, Veem)
  • Experience with third-party remote blob solutions (ex. Metalogix)
  • Development experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Framework, MS SQL Server, InfoPath, Workflow, Subversion/VisualSVN, PowerShell and SharePoint Designer
  • Web development experience (HTML, CSS, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Experience in analyzing error and event logs to detect trends or anomalies that could impact system performance
  • Experience in federated authentication frameworks
  • Familiar with responsive web design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio)
  • Desired but NOT required
    • Microsoft SharePoint certification
