SharePoint Designer / Developer

This is an estimated 10 month temporary position in Bothell, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Portfolio, Strategy and Management department is seeking a contracted SharePoint Designer to support development and deployment of department and cross-functional SharePoint program sites within our on-premise SharePoint 2016 environment. In addition, the SharePoint Designer will be responsible for understanding business requirements to design and develop configure solutions where SharePoint is the designated solution.


  • Configure and implement SharePoint sites, subsites and pages to include but not be limited to content types, libraries, lists, views, out-of-the-box workflows, and search-driven content using standard SharePoint features.
  • Meet with internal stakeholder and external alliance partners to gather and understand business/user requirements to ensure SharePoint deliverables meet end-user needs
  • Create customized pages and web parts, build workflows and content types, and write code to enhance usability of the platform
  • Recommend managed metadata and taxonomy based on user requirements to ensure view and structure of application fits user requirements
  • Documents and demonstrates SharePoint solutions by developing documentation, configurations, flowcharts, layouts, lists, libraries, diagrams, charts, code comments and code.
  • Actively participate in site design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment based on best practice. A wide degree of creativity required.
  • Work collaboratively with IT to ensure planned SharePoint deliverables are aligned with existing IT standards and requirements


  • At least 3+ years hands-on SharePoint Designer experience creating SharePoint features and solutions including templates, page layouts, content types, and workflows
  • Experience configuring in on-premise SharePoint 2013/2016 environment and out-of-the-box web parts
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Style Sheet, CAML, XML, XSLT, Info Path and JavaScript/JQuery
  • Experience with Design Manager, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and ASP.Net a plus
  • Related IT certifications preferred (SharePoint)
  • Experience with SharePoint Designer 2013
  • Proven experience supporting development and deployment of technical projects
  • Self-starter: takes initiative and works independently but seeks guidance when appropriate
  • Communicates fluently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
