Job Description

SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Volt Workforce Solutions is in search of a Supervisor for a fast-paced plastics manufacturing facility.

This is a direct hire opportunity offering $25-27 hourly for the right fit!

The facility runs 24-7 and requires the supervisor be available during business hours.


The Shift Supervisor Tech is responsible for guaranteeing the quality of company equipment and ensuring the quality of the manufactured products and the performance of production lines. This position is also responsible to successfully lead a team of employees to meet organizational goals and expectations.


SUPPORT
• Ensure safe operations of the employees under his/her direction
• Ensure quality standards are met at all times according to the GMP’s, policies and procedures
• Supervise all Operators on his/her shift, including handling timekeeping and participating in recommendations to Management and the HR Department for recognition or corrective action (i.e., verbal, written, and final written warnings; suspensions; PIPs; Dismissals, etc.)
• Understand, respect and enforce the rules of safety and hygiene as outlined by company policy
• Maintain and repair all production related equipment on their shift to ensure proper functionality
• Ensure all production meets established quality standards
• Ensure the facility runs efficiently
• Communicate effectively with other Shift Supervisors, Plant Manager, Production Manager/ Assistant Plant Manager, Quality Control personnel and HR
• Be available to work as scheduled and as needed
• Coordinate the activities of production (in connection with quality)
• Put into production orders from customers in respect of the deadlines and the production order
• Start and stop presses, finishing lines and related safe equipment (ex: lockout/ tagout)
• Supervision of cleaning of injection presses, rows of finishes and all related equipment according
to the cleaning plan (RA-IN-6100)
• Supervision of the cleanliness of the work area
• Know the names of non-conformities and defects on the caps and recognize them physically
• Supervise the initial training of Operators and Forklift Drivers
• Training of Operators and Drivers (OPL, etc.)
• Monitoring and observation of the work of operators and drivers (improving performance, workflow, quality, etc.)
• Supervise employee absences and overtime claims
• Communicate problems appropriately and timely upper management
• Transmit and retrieve information during shift changes
• Work as a team and help colleagues, cover absences and vacations, etc.
• Complete reports timely to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned


Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be able to read, write and speak English
