Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Administrator for a direct hire opportunity.  The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, hard-working, and dependable.

The Shipping & Receiving Administrator will verify and record all incoming and outgoing shipments. The Administrator will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and tracking all customer deliveries form order to fulfillment with complete accuracy. 

More specifically this position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities and functions:

  • Manage the daily order process and prioritization of all customer orders with urgency and accuracy to meet target shipment goals with zero error rate;
  • Effectively communicate with production personnel, customer service, dispatchers to provide excellent service and support via phone and email;
  • Perform proper planning in anticipation of peaks in orders, inventory changes and provide management with weekly updates based on demands;
  • Analyze and prioritize trucking demands, properly track stock deliveries and perform necessary audit checks;
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate specific needs and general issues to plant leadership;
  • Provide administrative assistance to the operations management team as needed;
  • Performs all other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Shipping and Receiving process in manufacturing environment; other areas of consideration are Purchasing, Logistics and Transportation;
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Positive attitude, high touch customer service and support and high attention to detail;
  • Be a self-starter and be able to perform task with minimal supervision;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills, specifically Excel and Outlook;
  • Previous experience with Oracle ERP software systems and Transportation Management Systems;         
  • Experience with coordinating truck loads/less than truckloads a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to do one or more of the following, separately and/or together: stand; walk; sit; use hands, fingers and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance and depth perception.

Work Environment

The duties of the position primarily involve work to be done in an office setting with occasional time spent on the manufacturing floor, where noise, dust and exposure to moderate to extreme temperatures are common.
