GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will receive, check, store, issue and ship inbound/outbound materials from the warehouse.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives, unpacks, stores, distributes, verifies and signs for proper count and content of deliveries.
  • Processes shipping orders by withdrawing from stock, weighing, packing and labeling materials for shipment.
  • Completes rejection reports for inadequately received goods.
  • Responsible for the proper packaging and paperwork preparation for Hazardous Material Shipments.
  • Maintains proper levels of packing materials.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May prepare air bills and arrange for shipment of overnight packages.
  • May load/unload trucks manually or with powered forklift.
  • Assists with dimer packaging as time allows.
  • May complete HSEA responsibilities - MSDS and forklift.
  • Assists with crating, skidding, etc. of equipment for shipment.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum one year manufacturing experience.


BASIC SKILLS:

  • Ability to comprehend in English written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  
  • Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.  
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.  
  • Ability to complete standard forms and spreadsheets compliant to quality procedures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact professionally with vendors and suppliers.  
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.  
  • Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
  • Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction.  Able to read No. 1 at 14” distance, or No. 2 at 20” distance, or No. 3 at 24” distance.
