Job Description



Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying delivered items, unloading trucks, ensuring items are stored correctly, and processing returns. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will also be responsible for inspecting deliveries with great attention to detail and be in good physical condition to lift and move heavy items. Ultimately, a top Receiving Clerk should be able to ensure efficient receiving processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Work with purchasing department on any new items parts and shipments
  • Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt
  • Receive and unload material from incoming shipments
  • Inspect all the contents for damages and volume
  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, such as suppliers, purchasing and shipping
  • Identify any bottlenecks in the process
  • Manage and return incorrect shipments
  • Handle and document invoices 
  • Keep records and help with inventory control
  • Cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operator
  • Assist shipping when available with shipments and facility responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High level of energy and initiative
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety regulations
  • Physical dexterity and experience operating forklifts
  • Basic computer skills
  • Data entry
  • Experience with SAP
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently
  • Must be able to left up to 100lbs periodically with assistance

Education & Experience:

Required Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Prior crafting/carpentry/remodeling experience helpful
