Job Description

Job Title: Site Support Tech II

Location: Reston, VA

DESCRIPTION:
Volt is looking to hire IT Technician for the Multifactor Authentication Implementation (MFA) of NIST for our client based in Reston, VA.

These positions will provide pre-implementation remote support, identifying devices that will be blocked by MFA Enforcement Mode and reaching out to site contacts and device owners to remediate those in advance, and they will provide onsite hands on support during MFA implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues related to the MFA implementation.
  2. Track down connected hosts and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely via phone and remote-control software.
  3. Work with the Network Engineering MFA Team pre-implementation to identify systems that will be blocked & post-implementation to remediate any systems that have been blocked.
  4. Be detailed oriented, able to communicate and document occurrences

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma and 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with computer networks, network operating & desktop systems
  • Knowledge of the following systems and tools: TCP, DNS, DHCP,IPAM,PKI,OTP
  • Strong desktop support skills (software, Windows 7 & 10 / hardware, Dell & HP)
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP, DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
  • Familiarity with data closets and wiring in MDF and IDF’s
  • Solid understanding of multifactor authentication methods – PKI & OTP
  • Experience with Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC)
  • Ability to track down connected hosts and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely via phone and remote-control software.
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Ability to work independently to complete projects without direct supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required

QUALIFICATION DESIRED:

  • Experience with Clear Pass OnGuard, Cisco AnyConnect, SCCM & Bomgar a plus
  • Degree, MCP/MCSA/MCSE, A+, Network+, Security+ a plus

OTHER:

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Position can involve working in tight spaces such as network closets and under desks to trace network cabling.
  • This is a traveling field position which may include being on the road for several weeks at a time.
  • Travel to local sites will require a personal vehicle.  Mileage will be reimbursed.  For longer trips that do not involve air travel, a rental car will be provided.
