Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is supporting a client that Provides a full spectrum of world-class electronics manufacturing services (EMS), from prototyping through full scale production including, turnkey box builds, engineering and advanced testing solutions. They specialize in low-to-medium volume, high-mix assemblies for IP critical and complex applications.

SMT Equipment Operator

Role and Purpose within the Organization:
Provides the expertise to safely operate surface mount production equipment, verify proper placement of SMT parts by this equipment (location and orientation) and correct minor equipment alignment or placement problems as they are identified to ensure product is built per customer specification and industry standards.

Qualifications for Job Function:
-Ability to read, understand and verify bills of material, assembly drawings and/or
other technical information applicable to operation of various pick-n-place and reflow
oven combinations.
-Must be able to discern between conforming and nonconforming equipment
operation based on visual and/or equipment monitoring capability.
-Must have visual acuity of 20/20 when corrected with lenses and the ability to discern
correct colors.
-Prior experience in operation of surface mount automated assembly equipment is
desired.
-Employee must meet other general requirements as indicated in the employee
handbook
-Must remain in a seated/standing position for sustained period of time

Responsibilities:

Equipment operation:
-Operates various pick-n-place equipment as required.
-Selects and loads programs necessary to operate equipment.
-Loads variety of feeder units to accommodate part placement.-Clears mis-feeds through manual and/or software console adjustment.
-Expels mis-picked material from equipment and accounts for entire parts kit quantities
as required.
-Ensures safe operation of all assigned equipment.
-Maximizes usage and throughput on all assigned equipment.
-Corrects material/parts misplacements/alignment either via personal actions or by
requesting technical support.


-Maintains all assigned equipment in clean, working condition.
-Maintains clean/safe workspace adjacent to assigned equipment.
-Complies with general manufacturing housekeeping requirements.
-Keeps auxiliary equipment (feeders, carts, etc.) clean and in working order.

Shift: 7:30am to 4pm (possibly 5pm-6pm as needed)  shift may change to 2:30pm to 11:00pm Monday thru Friday, some weekends
