    Technician level experience in precision soldering, rework, and assembly equipment programming.  Please see attachment for more detail.

Description:
Provides daily technical support for Surface Mount (SMT), Probes & Accessories, and Kitting-Packaging process areas or product families in production and/or new product introduction.  Support responsibilities may include:

  • Daily Process Support by addressing Process-Related Issues
  • Process and Defect Failure Analysis
  • Consultation and Customer Feedback
  • Preventive Maintenance and Spare Part Organization
  • Process Data Collection, Analysis, and Follow-Up Actions
  • Process Output Quality Monitoring and Quality Assurance
  • New Equipment Installation & Introduction
  • New Process Development, Documentation, and Training
  • Design and Build New Tools & Fixtures
  • Lead Continuous Process Improvement Efforts

Attributes:
Appropriate education or work experience that would enable effective contribution in a manufacturing and new product introduction environment:

  • Has minimum 5 years of technician experience in support of production or new product introduction.
  • Strong soldering knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative as well as a pro-active approach in identifying and resolving issues,
    both as an individual contributor or in a team setting.
  • Has experience in solving a broad range of technical problems, of varying scope and complexity, with an organized, logical, and systematic approach.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of all variables (chemical, electronic, mechanical, material, human, etc.) that contribute to a successful process. Has the ability to utilize this knowledge to quickly identify the best course to resolve process problems or develop process solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong teamwork attitude while building positive and productive relationships with the engineering team, fellow technicians, production operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a strong quality and safety commitment and the discipline to carry out documented processes in a reliable and uncompromising manner.
  • Understand the need to be flexible to accommodate schedule changes, resource constraints,
    priority shifts, interrupts, and other issues that are common in a production & NPI environment.
  • Exhibit strong accountability and ownership for the results from the area of responsibilities and
    demonstrate the willingness to assist other team members in achieving resolution to issues.
  • Understand typical production metrics (yield, defects, SUT, SPC, CoPQ, etc.) and be able to identify and setup critical metrics that reflect the health and effectiveness of specific processes.
  • Proficiency in using both hardware and software tools to assist in technical problem solving.
  • Experience with complex high precision machineries.  This includes installation, repair, maintenance, software programming, and trouble-shoot equipment issues.
  • Demonstrate good communication (verbal and writing) skills with experience of writing failure analysis reports and operating procedures.
