Software App Developer 3

This is an estimated  8 months contingent/temporary position in Seattle, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

Statement Of Work/Service Description:

Key Functions:
• Understand business processes and the role of the IT solutions in the execution of business processes.
• Develop, build, configure, test, document, deploy and provide on-going support & management of systems and tools and their related processes.
• Investigate, plan and recommend changes to existing solutions to improve performance, usability, reliability, supportability and costs.
• Act as technical consultant on major or complex enhancements and projects related to strategic custom apps. 
• Understand alternatives, make decisions and guide team members to meet business needs.
• Be willing and enthusiastic about the Cloud and work through the on-prem to cloud migrations
• Perform advanced root cause analysis and provide appropriate resolution.
• Educate users on how to use the solutions and systems for optimal business value.  This may include creating training materials in multiple Medias and formats.
• Maintain support documentation and related knowledgebase.
• Work tickets using the standard support tools for incident management, problem management, and change control.
• Work in an Agile environment

Required Skills:

Qualifications Requirements:
• Computer Science degree (or related degree) or 5+ years equivalent experience
• Demonstrates eagerness to learn functional knowledge of the Wood Products businesses, planning and control methods
• Enthusiastic to learn and adopt modern technology and approaches as Business IT moves towards modern and standard systems
• Skilled at collecting user requirements and building functional and technical specifications for strategic custom applications
• Excellent web development skills (such as ASP.Net C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, UI5, VB)
• Excellent SQL Server DB/SQL programming skills
• A committed focus on safety for self and others every day
• Highly motivated, team oriented, self-directed, and committed to successful results
• Creativity with focus on user needs
• Ability to analyze and improve processes
• Strong interpersonal skills; written and verbal - has ability to interact with business users, management, team members to understand problems, provide information, suggest options, follow-thru with commitments
• Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities as needed
• Willingness to learn new programming languages and architectures and adopt them
 
Highly Valued:
• Experience with application support and training
• MS Office 365 experience and knowledge
• Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services or other cloud IaaS or PaaS experience and knowledge
• Automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet) experience and knowledge
• SAP ECC R/3, S/4 HANA, Fiori (UI5) experience or knowledge
• Experience interfacing with process control systems.
• Reporting systems development experience: Microsoft Reporting Services/Analysis Services, Power BI
• Business and/or manufacturing experience
• Statistical knowledge and use experience
