Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III for our client in Franklin, TN for a 6 month contract. 

Our client is a leading energy management company that deals with homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructures and industries, with a presence in more than 100 countries.  This position resides within the Power Solutions North America Engineering team in the Buildings and IT Business Unit. The team is tasked to develop and deliver Gateway and Energy Server products that comply with our customer and ever emerging market requirements.

As a part of an engineering team, the Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for utilizing modern development processes and coding technologies to develop Electric Gateways and Energy Server products. This role will require an individual to challenge themselves to learn new technologies, and to be a part of the cutting edge digital transformation of cloud connected industrial products that are empowering the energy efficiency movement.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks:   As a part of an engineering team, the Embedded Software Engineer will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Participate in an agile team to develop the next generation applications of our industrial gateway and energy server products.
  • Work closely with our test teams to support test plan development for the verification of all core functionality
  • Help drive our product evolution application designs to enable cloud based technologies that unleash the power of an IoT connected experience.
  • Work as a team member within a global system environment to deliver the central gateway component.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant degree.
  • Proven excellent team skills to integrate into the most awesome R&D team within the organization
  • 5+ Years of Relevant Product / Application Development Experience
  • Embedded Application Product Development
  • Object Oriented Design
  • C++ and JAVA programming
  • Proficient with development tools and best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Software Configuration Management and Continuous Integration and Build Environment Workflow
  • Demonstrated willingness to research and learn new technologies

Preferred Experience:

  • Working knowledge of developing within an AGILE SCRUM process.
  • Familiarity with industry standard development process and tools
  • Utilization of code repositories such as GIT
  • Have worked with verifying application code via an Automated Test Environment
  • Experience working with such CI tools as Jenkins
  • Familiarity with developing and working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Exposure to such tools as Selenium, Robot Framework, PyTest, or equivalent.
