Job Description

Position: Software QA Engineer (manual and automation)

Location: Pasadena, CA 


  • Test a wide range of applications and products throughout the entire lifecycle of projects
  • Design, Create, and Document Test Cases based on Requirements and other supporting documents
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing suites
  • Execute various test methodologies to ensure comprehensive coverage of all requirements
  • Apply a variety of software testing practices and procedures to ensure the highest level of software quality
  • Analyze test results and provide summary test reports and/or recommendations for improved testing
  • Track and report software anomalies, defects and customer experience issues using in-house approved defect tracing tools
  • Maintain open two-way communication with software & product engineers to ensure that requirements are accurate and customer expectations are met
  • Review, investigate, reproduce and collaborate with Development Engineering on all reported software defects, as assigned
  • Perform acceptance testing across all QA & project test environments
  • Verify End User Documentation / Help Files against released Software


  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and/or development
  • Programming experience in: C/C++, Java, JavaScript, or C#
  • Must:
  • client-server experience
  • Shell scripting, Unix, SQL, virtual machine (preferrably VMWare), cloud, hardware testing, QTP or UFT, SoapUI
  • Experience with automation frameworks and in the design/coding of API based automated scripts
  • Experience in writing SQL in one or more of the following database platforms: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or MySQL
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux and UNIX)
  • Experience in testing Mobile based platforms (Android & iOS)
  • Experience with Defect and Test Case Management tools
  • Strong understanding of STLC and software testing approaches & methodologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to isolate problems
  • Familiarity with SCRUM and the Agile development
  • Experience in designing, coding, and participation in both code and test case reviews
  • Experience with Code Coverage Tools
