Volt Workforce Solutions has an opening for a Systems Engineer Manager to support the ESA IV program. ESA IV is an IT Services program supporting several customers within the Department of Justice. The program provides a range of enterprise wide Information Technology (IT) services, including Desktop, Infrastructure, Platform and Application Windows services

Responsibilities: • Lead team of system engineers, developers, and network administrators to architect, design, build, deploy, and support a wide range of customer-site high profile environments • Technical exchange meetings/forums with internal and external customers • Develop and refine technical documents • Provide technical briefings • Collaborate with vendors to define best solutions which meet customer objectives. • Evaluate COTS and GOTS solutions to meet customer requirements. • Communicate customer priorities and constraints to customer leadership and project staff. • Understanding the mission needs to architect optimal combination of hardware/software solutions. • Articulate requirement to the engineering to design, develop build and deploy systems and solutions.

The ideal candidate will be personable and articulate and will focus on making sure that the customer’s IT needs are met quickly and effectively. He or she will be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interface with customers on site and with staff in the main office in Washington, DC.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience. • At least 7+ years of general experience as a systems analyst, including five years of experience in systems engineering, systems analysis.

 • Architect-like person with broad experience, from identifying hardware and software solutions, standing up enclaves, system administration, networking, storage, and software development

• Very strong solutions architect experience with a command of commercial products.

 • Experience one or several cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure)

• Experience with Platform-As-A-Service Tools (i.e ServiceNow)

• Strong technical leadership skills.

 • Experience with Windows Server 2012R2, Windows 7/10, REL 6/7

 • Successfully complete a security investigation by the government.

 Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of storage system products and IP-based storage protocols (e.g. NFS/iSCSI)

• Experience with PowerShell 4/5/6 and PowerCLI

• Experience with Hyper-V

• Experience with Citrix XenServer, XenDesktop and XenApp

• Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and supporting technologies

• Knowledge of Azure or AWS based Cloud Architecture and migration.

 • Practitioner’s experience with AWS Cloud Formation Templates, Connectors, APIs, RDS and Lambda services.

 • Understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs.

• Relevant Industry certifications such on Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills Special Requirements

• 25% Travel may be required
