Software QA Tester – 24 mo. – Huntsville, AL

Volt is seeking a talented Software QATester for a 24 month contract opportunity with our valued client that provides energy and automation digital solutions for efficiency and sustainability. Our client combines world-leading energy technologies, real-time automation, software and services into integrated solutions for homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure and industries.

Join their team of .Net Software Engineers delivering customized solutions on the ESRI GIS and ArcFM Solution to Utility companies around the world.  As a QA Engineer on the Professional Services team you will be responsible for safeguarding the quality of enterprise-level web and desktop applications by employing manual functional, automation, regression, endurance, performance, and security testing practices.

The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience testing complex multi-tier applications with responsibility for QA tasks that involve navigating a new piece of functionality to discover and document its weaknesses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design & Develop enterprise-level software tests for software written on the ESRI GIS platform and ArcFM Solution.
  • Implement automated tests with a variety of technologies and tools (Visual Studio, Fiddler, Postman, JMeter, and XUnit) relating to desktop, web and mobile based solutions for electric, gas, water and wastewater utility clients.
  • Engage in all stages of the software development process, starting at requirements gathering, through iterative develop-and-test cycles, and to final production release.
  • Serve as one of the primary contacts to a client base that is knowledgeable, technical, and often in operation-critical functions at utility companies. Create and maintain the client relationships that are valuable to our organization
  • The ideal candidate will be able to develop solutions independently or as part of a solutions team and have excellent problem-solving skills.


  • Bachelor of Science degree in CS or CIS preferred, or related field with computer emphasis
  • Experience testing end-user applications and interfaces in a .NET development environment. C# coding experience preferred.
  • Experience testing end-user applications and interfaces with an object-oriented programming language.
